Filson Grand Opening

Filson Grand Opening

Filson, the renowned outdoor gear company, recently marked a major milestone with the grand opening of their new flagship store here in Seattle on December 9th. 2015. We were thrilled to be apart of the opening, and print up some bespoke letterpress postcards on site for guests. The event was a true celebration of craftsmanship, bringing together over 1300 people to experience the brand's legacy in a unique way. We got to first explore every corner of the space, from the bags being sewn on the first floor to the stunning 18-foot cubist totem by artist Aleph Geddis. The store is designed to reflect the spirit of the Pacific Northwest, with reclaimed timber trellises, local artifacts, and a hands-on feel that showcases Filson's commitment to quality and community.

The grand opening also featured exciting live performances, including sets by Chuck Ragan, DJ Greg Vandy, and the band Portugal. The Man, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. As guests arrived, they were greeted by the impressive work of local chainsaw artist Bob King, who carved custom sculptures on-site, adding a personal touch to the celebration. Filson’s flagship store is more than just a retail space—it's a tribute to the craftsmanship and Seattle's local culture that the brand has championed for over a century.
